March of Dimes Gala and Mini Photo Sessions this weekend!

Looking forward to this weekend - the March of Dimes Chef's Gala Saturday night and Mini Sessions Sunday. The WNC Autism Society's Run/Walk

This year's Autism Run/Walk went really well - the rain held off!! These are just a few of the many great shots we captured. Camilla Calnan Photography gathered an awesome group of volunteer photographers to help cover the event. I had Chris Bolm, Katie Moore, and Daniel Abide shooting with me....and there are so many great photos! You can see them by clicking HERE! It is such a great cause and everybody there was so great!! What a fun way to spend a Saturday morning and good excuse to be up for the sunrise! Love the bride and groom that were up early (with family and wedding party!) to run and support the Autism Society on the day of their wedding - congratulations, you two!!

14th Weather Squadron - Active duty military in Asheville, NC!

I am so happy about being approached to donate some portrait sessions to the 14th Weather Squadron for their quarterly awards. The 14th is a primarily Air Force active duty military group stationed here in Asheville, NC. After being raised an Army brat and growing up on military bases, I was feeling out of touch with the military community and was so glad to find out that there is an active duty military community right here in Asheville! I had the pleasure of meeting a few of them the other day. They were so nice and reminded me how proud I am of my military heritage. I was told many times to thank my father and to thank my brother (when he returns from deployment) for their service.

On this, the anniversary of 9/11, I need to take a moment and thank our military for all they do.

Here is a family portrait from a few years back, with my mom, dad (retired Army), Grandfather (retired Army), sister, brother (active duty Navy) and myself. I love you all! Praying for Will's safe return.

Mini sessions - round 2 -

Camilla Calnan Photography had such a wonderful response to the first round of mini sessions, I have decided to offer another three dates in September (listed below). We are going to be shooting these at the Botanical Gardens of Asheville. The mini session can be used for a family portrait, a session just for the kids, for individuals or couples.

A mini session is a 15 minute photo session by appointment only for $25. It includes an online album of the images that you can share with family and friends, 2 - 5x7 prints and a set of wallets. If you order any reprints within 2 weeks of your album being ready, you get 20% off.

-BE SURE TO ARRIVE EARLY!! Give yourself plenty of time to get there, parked and ready to go. If you are running late, it will cut into the already limited time. Be sure to have the child changed and ready to go by your appointment time.

To schedule your mini session, email cami@camiphoto.com or call 828.242.2308. I will be responding to emails and calls in the order they are received to confirm your appointment time.

When you email or call, I will need your name, address, your phone number, children's names and ages. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies to any treats we may use (marshmallows or smarties) or if you would prefer to not have them offered as a bribe. Let us know your first date choice with your top 4 time slot choices (we run the sessions in 15 minute increments - i.e. 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, etc).

Carly, Maddie, Mom and Dad

I was thrilled to have the whole family together for this shoot! Carly, 4, and her sister Maddie, 2, had their first visit to the Botanical Gardens of Asheville during our session. Their dad is usually at work when I have the chance to visit and photograph this wonderful family, so this was a special day. It couldn't have been better, with the beautiful setting and the girls exploring a new place.

Glad to have another installment in their family photos; we have been working together for over 5 years now! After a Maddie gets a little older, we are going to create an album of their family time-line.

Sweet Chloe

Chloe was such a sweet little girl to photograph! We walked around the gardens with her dog, Theodore, and found some beautiful places along the way. She is so pretty, it made my job easy! Chloe, her mom and Theodore helped me capture lots of beautiful moments. I am so glad they came out to my mini sessions. Thanks!!
