Spring has arrived - Asheville Photography and Videography

Spring is finally *officially* here!!  As the calendar continues to fill up with everything from beautiful mountain weddings and family portraits to commercial and corporate clients, Chris and I are reminded that we are so lucky to live in the gorgeous Asheville, NC area!  Working at locations like the ones we get to frequent are always a pleasure and often feel more like play than work!  Some venues where you may see us this year are the Biltmore EstateDeer Creek Run, the ArboretumBotanical GardensLake Lure Inn, private family homes and properties (super excited about the 'backyard' wedding in Brevard coming up!!) and lots of other unique locations around the Western North Carolina area and beyond.  We also have been working on a new line of art work that is available now in our etsy shop, and our photo boxes are now available at the Asheville Art Museum Shop as well.

As Camilla Calnan Photography and WNC Video Productions grow, we have decided to help simplify for our clients (and ourselves!) by combining websites into one convenient new site.  The site showcases both our photo and video work in a much more user friendly platform.  You can check out the new website by clicking the image below.  We hope you love it as much as we do!

Biltmore Estate Champagne Cellar Destination Wedding - Asheville Wedding Photographer

The Biltmore Estate is so romantic, and the Biltmore Champagne Cellar is the epitome of locations that capture that romance.  The candle-lit space was filled with white flowers for Beth and Matt's wedding.  The petals warmed by the candles added a subtle, sweet floral aroma that greeted guests as they entered the tunnel to the cellar.  The tunnel was lined with more white petals and tons of candles set the mood perfectly.  The Biltmore Floral team did a spectacular job filling this space as the bride had envisioned.  Biltmore Catering served the wedding party a delectable meal, with top notch servers and dishes that never fail to impress.   The cake was also made by the estate staff, with the pastry chef creating the gorgeous lace-y layers on their three tier cake from a Pinterest inspiration photo.  Beth and Matt are so happy that they chose the Champagne Cellar for their intimate destination wedding celebration.
Their day arrived with slightly dramatic skies that were perfect for their photos around the estate.  Beth and the ladies had their hair and makeup done by Liz Tipswald at Lola Salon.  The bride's updo showed off some of the blue tips  dyed in her hair, adding a uniquely fun and elegant touch that was perfect for her.  By the time I arrived, she and her sister were so excited that they were jumping on the bed in full wedding dress.  Beth was absolutely stunning in her fitted lace overlay bridal gown and ballet style flats.  We took time for bride and groom to have a first look, giving them a quiet moment together before rejoining their family.  After playing and capturing portraits around the inn, we then headed to the winery for the ceremony.  The cellar was filled with warm candle light and beautiful harp music by the talented Donna Germano.  Reverend Fred Werhan performed the heartfelt, joyous ceremony.  It is always a pleasure to capture and work with Fred and Donna - especially in such a sweet location!!   After the ceremony, we took advantage of the stunning light and headed to the Biltmore House for more photos before returning to the transformed cellar for their reception and dinner.  It was a truly breathtaking day!!  If you know me, you probably know I want to continue telling their story in words, but this wedding speaks for itself and I'll let the photos share the rest of the story.  Hope you enjoy!
