Wendy & Randy's Wedding

Wendy and Randy were married at Central Methodist Church, Asheville, NC and held their beautiful candlelit reception at the Renaissance Hotel, with a cocktail hour in the Skyline room and the reception in the grand ballroom. She used inspiration from her parent's as well as her grandparent's wedding, carrying through ivory and gold details. Her ring was her grandmother's, and was handed down by her grandfather that was at the wedding - making for extra special nostalgic moments! They even had the hand painted sign that was from her grandparent's wedding (you'll see it - too cute!!).

They were truly a pleasure to work with since they are such a sweet couple that is so in LOVE!! With there being so many images from the day I adore, this is as far as I could narrow them...and I wish I could post them all!!

Randy is in the Air Force, and was looking extra sharp in his dress blues.

Did I mention that his three brothers are all active duty military (2 Army, 2 Air Force)? Something about a man in uniform...especially since they were such hams!!

Wendy's bouquet and the floral was done by Blossoms at Biltmore Park. The brooch was one of a pair - her mom was wearing the other.

Her mom could not have been more proud. It was an emotional moment as they grasped hands, with the heirloom ring of her maternal grandmother shining!

Wendy is beautiful, but in that dress, she was stunning!!

Their programs were made by the Baggie Goose and fit perfectly with the traditional theme of the day. Could not resist featuring Annette's beautiful work!!

Keep an eye out for this shot in WNC Magazine's 'Just Married' section in July! Aren't they gorgeous?!?!

Wendy in the stained glass sunbeam...took all of our breath away!!

They are so cute - look for the complementary shot from their engagement shoot!!

Fun wedding party! This couple had the nicest friends and family, which is such a reflection on what great people they are! Had to break out the bw film and fisheye lens for this one!

Here is the sign from her grandparent's wedding!! What a great element!!

I love these two shots - especially next to each other! They are both so happy!!

The pearl clasp she wore on her wrap that evening was a heirloom piece from Randy's great grandmother's collection that was part of a wedding gift from Randy's mom. : )

The reception room was elegantly decorated. Cortney Jackson with Simply Weddings came up with the candle covered piano...yet another gorgeous, perfectly understated idea!!

The couple entered the room under military sabers.

So sweet...

Their foxtrot was perfect!!

Randy and his mom surprised everyone (even the dj!) with a traditional mother/son dance into Disney's 'We should dance' that sent them dancing around the entire room!!

Wendy has some great friends!!

Sigh...this shot captures their sweet love that is so true!!

Off to the Biltmore Inn for a few nights before their honeymoon in MAUI!!

Quintessential final shot:

Thank you, Wendy and Randy for being such amazing people! We loved being your wedding photography and videography team. (That's right...the next post is going to be an artistic montage of their wedding video. All done in house!) Congrats, you two! We wish you years of happiness to come!!

Wendy and Randy's Engagement Session

I LOVED working with Wendy and Randy as their wedding photographer!! (The studio was privileged to also be their wedding day video crew.) We had so much fun on the engagement shoot and even more on the wedding day!! They are the sweetest couple and are so in love!!! A few weeks before the wedding, we traveled around the Asheville area, starting at Central Methodist Church where they were married March 27th.

The French Broad Chocolate Lounge was our next stop since it was a bit chilly that day. It was perfect to warm up with a view of their church's steeple from upstairs. Cannot say enough great things about the Chocolate Lounge!! If you haven't been, go if you have the chance...such a cool place with an amazing approach to chocolate and pure decadence!!

We stopped at the Grove Arcade, then headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a few shots before wrapping at theMoose Cafe, where they had their first date, and overlooking the Inn on Biltmore Estate, where they stayed after the wedding for a few days.

Congrats, Wendy and Randy! Their GORGEOUS wedding day photos will be up soon!!
